Do more than vote!

This is far and away the most exciting election in decades. I'm hoping that a clear Obama victory will be announced Tuesday night and if so, I will be popping a bottle of champagne (seriously...it's cautiously chilling as I type this) and singing The Hallelujah Chorus. Please get out there and VOTE, if you haven't done so already, and then think about volunteering; make a few phone calls, drive people to the polls, knock on some doors. Let's get involved this time around. It's OUR future at stake. Let your voice be heard! And if you are awake Tuesday night and President Obama is announced, please join me in lifting your voice and raising a glass. "Hallelujah!" It's time for change.

Sandra, I'm with you all the way! I can't wait to hear that beautiful, angelic chorus singing of change, hope and promise! I've done my share of making phone calls and feel fabulous about it. I will be on line first thing in the morning to vote. This is such an important election and I am so "antsy" about it that I can think of nothing else. *President Obama*...Doesn't that have a lovely ring to it? .....Ricki

It was just announced on MSNBC that Barack Obama's Grandmother passed away today. Such sad news. I am sure that she was so very proud of all his accomplishments and, if the fates allow, she will be looking down on him, along with his Mother, from Heaven when he takes the Oath of Office in January. May she rest in peace.

Enjoying that champagne? I'm so thrilled! I'm so unbelievably proud to be an American. And for the first time in a very long time, I trust our President. And that crowd and his speech in Chicago? If that's not inspiration to the max, I don't know what is.

YAY OBAMA!!!!! words can not express how ecstatic i was with the results on Tuesday!
I live abroad, and over the last 8 years there has been a huge prejudice against americans because people were seeing the government and painting us all with the same brush. This is the first time, in a LONG time that you can tell people outside of the US that you are an American and not be made feel embarrassed about it!

Sandra, I couldn't agree with you more! It is time for a change. Let's face it, we have our future to think about! I am very happy with the results of this election! I'm a young adult who is proud of my peers that decided to show real interest on the future of our country. I felt we needed a younger president, someone we could relate to and admire. The impact of Obama winning didn't hit me till I had school the next day. I was in my car, eating breakfast and waiting for my next class when I kept hearing about Obama winning over the radio. I cried and was overjoyed with emotion. I have family that are deceased that would've never thought that such a day would come - a day where America can finally show (to the world) not only a sense of unity for a culturally diverse president, but a true desire for change! My only regret is that I didn't had any champagne on hand when the announcement was made...but... knowing that it won't be long before Obama takes his place as president of this great place called the United States is all the buzz I need!
