Across the country

It isn't as warm as you think it's going to be in San Francisco. The mind says, "I'm in California" but the body soon realizes it needs a jacket and scarf. Still, it's a pretty awesome city to visit. Ron, Griffin, Murphy and I enjoyed the drive across the country, particularly the final leg of it. Nothing against Nebraska, but there wasn't much to look at as we drove East to West all the way through the state. Once we hit Wyoming, where the deer and the antelope play, the view began to improve. Utah was breathtaking with its snow covered mountain ranges. The Nevada desert sand was white and barren for as far as the eye could see. But the best part was the very end of the trip, the final four hours of the thirty hour drive. If you ever get the chance to drive West from Reno to San Francsico, do it! Such majesty; those mountains covered with evergreens make my heart sing. We put on John Denver and let him do the real singing while we looked up and out and took it all in. That is church to me.
I like a pair of Jimmy Choos as much as the next gal, but I am a nature girl at heart. There is no greater high on earth than a Rocky Mountain High! Tell me...what "takes you to church", makes you feel one with everything?

Oh its beautiful,
I have been to Rocky Mountains of Colorado and Utah and its out of this world.....You're right that beauty reminds you that there is a bigger power who is creating and maintaining
this beauty in this world after all.

Hope you enjoy more of these breath taking views.
much love

John Denver is sooo amazing. Annie's Song is my favorite song to sing to my 7 month-old daughter, and Back Home Again is one of my favorite songs. Enjoy the scenery!

Amen to the Rocky Mountain High! I lived in Colorado for middle and high school, and sometimes miss my mountains as a physical ache.

I've learned to get some of the same nature fix from the Lake, but I don't get down there as much as I'd like. There's a little creek and strip of woods near my house that usually has to do.

And a bit more than that sometimes, like the day I was standing about five feet from a deer placidly munching away for a good fifteen minutes. U.S. 20 fifty yards one direction, and suburban houses no more than 30 yards on either side of the creek, didn't exist at all.

What takes you to church? Amazing question.

My dreams hold no limits on beauty and it is difficult to find things as beautiful here in this world, yet I can when I read and listen to what people say with their eyes.

This makes me very excited for our road trip from Reno to San Francisco later this year. What I really enjoy...this is going to sound kind of dumb, but...I really love skylines. Seeing the Chicago skyline, or pictures of the NYC skyline, or Seattle, Phoenix, big cities...it's crazy. I absolutely love it, and it makes me feel amazing. Especially when the sun is setting behind them...it's gorgeous. But that's just me...

Hello, Sandra. What wonderful, intense description!
I remember my similar experiemce.
Last year i come back home ( a town in North East Italy ) from Wien with two my friends. We travelled through the mountains all night and, at dawn ( a cold, bitterly cold dawn ), we watched the sunrise enlighten the partially snowy landscape, the pink-grey rocks and the red copper-beechs. ( Sorry, Rock Mountains, but the Alps are the best mountain range in the worl! ). There i have understood ( felt? ) all the power, the greatness of the Earth and the nature ( in the italian art and philosophy the word is "sublime" ).
PS Is my English understandable?
