Hello, friends- especially Jenny (Pontoon boat? Sorry I missed out!)
Thanks for your well wishes on our travels. We made it to Little Rock and have had an uneventful week for the most part. Ron and I visited the Clinton Library today. It was beautiful and inspiring. Other than that and a few trips to Wild Oats (soon to be Whole Foods; they bought all 100 stores!) and the gym, we've been having pretty lazy days here in Arkansas.
Sunday night after the curtain comes down on High School Musical, we will begin our trek to the West Coast. I cannot wait to get there! Warm weather and good friends await. But what a royal schlep it's gong to be, the longest one we've ever done. We'll go five hours Sunday night to Oklahoma City. Then, wake up and hit the highway again for about twelve hours, stopping probably somewhere in New Mexico or maybe Arizona. Tuesday morning, it's back in the car and off to La-La Land. We have XM Satellite Radio, (can you say Oprah and Friends?) two ipods full of tunes, and a couple of books on tape (well, on ipod). Hopefully, that will help us pass the time. Thanks to Sarah for the "I Spy" recommendation. Great tip. Wish us luck!
I confess that I had planned on using this blog as a sort of writing warm-up, something to get the fingers typing before I got down to work on my book. Instead, it's become the ONLY writing I seem to be getting done. I am so frighteningly good at procrastinating. I'm trying to stay motivated on the book, but life (and tv) keeps getting in the way. How do you motivate yourself when you feel like "why do today what I can put off 'til tomorrow?" Any suggestions?
Love and Action to you!

p.s. Yes, that was my sis and me in the picture on the last post. And the two lazy golden retrievers on this one are her babies, big boy Buster and baby Leo.

What adorable puppies--great picture! How are your dogs as far as travleing goes? Mine wasn't very good--he had to insist on sitting on my lap while my Husband drove--and woe is me when he would see a dog walking--my legs sure did take a beating--and we could never break him of it. BUT--we adored him--what can I say?
The reason I had mentioned the pontoon--Rebecca Pitcher and friends were slated to spend a day on the water when they were here--but alas--not to be--believe it or not--it rained every single Monday that they were here. At the time they were here--I served as Becca's web site editor. I no longer keep in touch with her--but still hear from Kimilee Bryant on a regular basis--she and I have been friends since she first came to Green Bay with the show--that was in 1997--a long time. The thrill of my life was when she took us backstage--while we were in Tampa. But I bet you have no desire to hear about my experiences with the Phantom. Believe me--I could go on and on--my absolute favorite show--have seen it 18 times--and hopefully--it will be 20 by the time I am finished. LOL! Seeing you perform it on Broaodway was the utimate--and how gracious you were at the stage door. Thank you for that!
I bet after you finally arrive in California--you will be one happy camper--have a great time--and keep smiling--you are the best!
I'm in the process of baking oatmeal chocolate chip cookies--I have shared them with members of the cast at certain times--they seemed to like them. Maybe one day I can share some with you too.
Good trip-dear lady--will try to be patient for the book--I cannot help with the procrastinating problem--I suffer from it too--just know myself along with your many other fans--are waiting to read it--not to put any pressure on you--hehehe!
Cheers,
Jenny
Greetings Sandra!!! I saw your post on Kris' "Crazy Sexy" blog and totally resonated with you fan-tasmic energy! Came to your blog and totally want to become a regular reader, you've got such a fun, perky and interesting way with words!
I'm also in the midst of writing a memoir - just had my year anniversary of working on it last month. It's called "Tales From On Top of My So-Called Soulmate" and is about romantic relationships I've had (and am currently having) in my late teens/early twenties. Still have a long way to go but am oober excited about the work I've done so far!
Anywhoo, just wanted to pop by and say hello and tell you that you have a gorgeous and magical spirit! Keep us updated on your writing!!

Hey Sandra,
I had an experience the other day that shot my mind right back to your blog about the tree in Cleveland. I thought I might share with you and that others might be interested as well.
I was at work doing some leaf cleanup in a bitter Cleveland december and my boss's new little puppy, Howie, was bounding through the leaves. I realize it seems cliche, but have you ever watched a puppy have fun? They truly do just bound upon this earth; seeking out new smells, looking for somebody to play with, wanting to find the next face to kiss. As we were complaining about the snow falling and the terrible wind making our jobs more difficult, there was howie jumping into the piles of leaves we so painstakingly made. Something struck me and for I made a concentrated effort to act on it, and not simply dimiss the thought, as we all so often seem to do. So I scooped up that little pup and together we jumped and feel into the leaves. Talk about exhilaration! After we landed I looked up at the leaves flying everywhere and time seemed to stop, if only for a second. I didn't think about the rest of the day. Not having to go to the second job, no worries about what am I going to buy who for Christmas, no relationship stresses, no cleaning. I just felt GOOD. And you know what? It lasted all day and then some!
So I guess what I'm trying to say with all of this rambling is: Every once in a while, pick up a puppy and jump in some leaves. It's worth it.
