So, we arrive in Cleveland at about 1:00am- dogs, luggage, and juicer in tow, and lo and behold the nice man at the front desk upgrades us to a suite! I swear to you it is bigger than any New York apartment I've ever seen. There is even a microwave and a mini-fridge! Thank you to all of you who suggested that I just go for it and pack the damn juicer. I am now off to Whole Foods (thanks to Jan who posted here and gave me the address) to gather up tons of organic veggies. Woo-hoo!
Since we actually have enough drawer space here to unpack everything, I was dismayed to learn that I have somehow managed to leave home without my favorite pair of jeans. You know, those everyday jeans that you pretty much live in? The ones you wear over and over again without washing until they're so stretched out that you run the risk of plumbers crack? Please tell me you have a pair of jeans like that. Mine are J & Company and I got them for a steal- 50% off at a store in La Jolla when I was out there visiting my husbands, Rex and Gene. (They are actually married to one another, or they would be if it were legal, but they call me "wife.") How on earth did I forget the one pair of jeans I cannot live without? And- this is how lame a packer I am) though I was at home in Jersey for four entire days, I never got around to cleaning out the suitcase. So, I am now traveling for the next two months with my Batgirl Halloween costume taking up precious space in my luggage. (Some of you may know that my husband is a bit obsessed with superheroes. We were Batman and Batgirl. If I can figure it out, I'll post pics.)
I am the world's worst packer. I couldn't get my head around the long-term travel, so I only packed for the upcoming few weeks: Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin. I've got sweaters, coats, and scarves. But next month, we will be in California and Arizona. Look for me in the desert. I'll be the girl in the batsuit. It's the only thing in my suitcase without sleeves.
Do you have a go-to pair of jeans? What kind of packer are you? What item of clothing would you hate to leave home without?

Hi Sandra~
I am looking forward to the show being right here in my city, Appleton, Wisconsin. I would love to see you at some point--but know how busy you will be. At any rate--I will be at the show--I don't have a favorite pair of jeans--but do have a favorite pair of exercise pants--lol--not that I exercise much in them. They would be missed if I forgot them on an extended trip. Doubt you'll get much use out of bat girl--it's pretty cool here at night! Stay warm--and stay healthy--and keep that wonderful smile of your's.
Cheers, Jenny
Mmm, jeans. My favorite pair of jeans has holes everywhere -- and they weren't bought like that. I need to get one of my friends in costumes to work on that -- or teach me. Speaking of holes, I just dropped by the theater to do a quick something, wearing the only jeans that didn't have holes in them, and then all of a sudden I get caught on something, and there's a nice hole in my jeans now. It was a sad day.
When I travel I usually leave out PJ's or toiletries. I like my PJs.
I wish I could find Onesies for my size. That'd be great. I miss those from when I was a kid.
Jeans? Mmm... My silver (not litterally silver, that's just the make name :P ) jeans, but they're starting to split, so I'm getting new ones soon. =) I got them at the value village near my house for 4 dollars! w00t!
Packing? I'm so careful about it, I'll unpack and re-pack my suitcase 4 times before I'm happy with it. Even then I'm still afraid I'll leave something-- and somehow in spite of it all I do. I would hate to leave without some form of a stuffed animal, less than 2 pairs of jeans or my phantom tee shirt. waaugh.
It's actually already snowed here In Canada... Southern Ontario only got a little bit, but further up north it actually stayed on the ground. Ick. Yay for being near lakeshore!
oh! and about adding pictures-- I just figured it out myself, you can add the pictures right to the blog. There should be a little icon of a landscape, just click that and options should pop up from there. =)
I used to have a favorite pair of jeans. They were Silver Janis jeans, but the stopped making them, so after I went through the last pair I had, I gave up jeans all together. I'm really picky and hard to fit.
But I'm usually pretty good at packing. I'm obsessive compulsive, so usually starting about a week before I go somewhere, I make a list of things I'll need to pack, and add to it duringt he week as things come to mind.
Hi, my name is Katie Rose, and I'm a list maker. "Hi, Katie Rose!" That's how I pack... that's how I live, actually. If I write it down, I feel like I can open up a little space in my mind for something new. Also, it helps to have things visually in front of me. I have those jeans, but I've started something new for myself this year... Every single day since school started, I've worn a skirt. Every single day! Not a single pair of pants! It just makes me feel ladylike! :-)
Hey Sandy, I hope you have fun in Wisconsin. It was fun seeing you at Lila's wedding last week. my favorite pair of jeans is a Pair of lightly faded Levi Strauss, I put them in the washer Right before & go to bed & put them in the dryer as soon as I wake up so when I get out of the shower & brush my teeth there dry & ready for another 3 days..Lol. See you soon.
Love Benjamin
